The Evolution of a Blog

I was reading through some of my earlier posts on the blog and was somewhat amazed at their length. And the amount of them that have substantial length. Oh, those were the days...when I had two little napping boys who slept for a solid two hour block each and every afternoon. Ahhh... That is how I was able to string together an array of coherent thoughts in the form of a story that went beyond a few sentences.

Those days are gone. And have been gone for quite some time. I can almost mark the end of the "Caleb Napping Era" by the switch from more words to more pictures in my blog posts. It is funny, though, because I really never meant for this blog to contain a whole lot of words. So, what is has become is really what I had intended for it to be in the beginning.

But you know me, I do have a lot of words. And I do enjoy writing. A lot. So, I am glad that it has become what it is...a hodgepodge of short stories and pictures of our family with a few indepth posts, with an actual profound thought or two, sprinkled in from time to time. And a reflection of how gracious God is, especially to a family who loves Him and does our best each day to glorify Him and find our strength in Christ. Although we are the same family who regularly falls flat on our faces, struggles to understand how to put it all together and keep it together, and often forgets that life is not all about us. Oh, thank you for your grace, Jesus! We need it!

I must end now because I have a two-year-old actually trying to lift me out of the chair. Apparently going for a walk around the pond in pursuit of baby ducks is more appealing to him right now than allowing mommy a few more minutes of writing time on the computer.

Hmmm...I wonder what this blog will look like when I no longer have any little nappers in the house.
