Roomies

I had waited for the day to come for nearly two years. What day you might ask? The day that my boys would be able to share a room, and I would get my guest bedroom back.

Well, the day finally came on Friday.

I spent most of the day rearranging the room formerly known as Seth's, into Seth and Biz's room. The transition went much smoother than either Eric or I anticipated. Caleb does not do so well with change. But then again, who does? I was waiting for some reluctant whining as we carried, I mean dragged, his mattress into Seth's room. As the toys came out of Biz's former room, one by one, not one cry was made to keep things "the same." I think it helped that Eric and I are now the new occupants of Caleb's old room. We kept talking about how fun it would be to have the whole family upstairs together and how great it would be to have a roommate. And the fact that the boys will be getting bunk beds this week only sweetened the deal. For now, though, Seth only admires the big boy bed from afar. That has been the only problem we have encountered, thus far, with new room arrangement. After the bedtime routine, once Seth is placed in his crib, he usually cries, arms desperately outstretched, toward Biz's bed for a few minutes. We elected to keep Seth in his crib for a while longer, even though Caleb transitioned at 23 months. Seth isn't quite ready, yet. Or at least I am not ready yet to have him unconfined. Other than that, both boys have been champs, sleeping throughout the night and our early-riser, Biz, has yet to wake up little brother in the morning. Of course, we are only on day two.

I wanted to post pictures of the boys' new abode, but my camera is currently MIA. I am only hoping that it didn't find its way into one of the five bags of stuff that we sent to Good Will after our major "clean out" this weekend or one of the numerous bags of trash that made its way out of our home. Instead, here are a couple pics of the Roomies!

As for that guest room that I was so eager to reclaim...it is now a playroom.

Plans do have a way of changing, don't they?
