Oh, how my heart leaps for that sweet little two-year old!! What joy he has brought to our family.
He is rarely found without a ball in hand, and he is a daddy's boy, all the way. One of Eric's co-workers, Debbie, described so beautifully what it is like to observe the two of them when we visit Eric's office. She said when Seth and Eric's eyes meet, they both just light up and just take off running toward each other, like a love story.
He also has a mutual admiration for his big brother...most days. We have affectionately nicknamed Sethie, "Me too," since everything Caleb does, Seth wants to follow suit.
Momma loves kissing those sweet cheeks and I cherish those precious hugs that he gives when he can be still long enough. And when he puckers up those little lips and says, "Kia momma, Kia," I melt.
Today, I am reminded of the song, Everlasting God by Lincoln Brewster. In the last weeks of my pregnancy, Eric deemed that Seth's song. I was having a very hard time waiting on the Lord, so Eric would sing it to me as an encouragement, especially when Seth's "due date" came and went without even a sign of labor. I remember singing it in praise and worship at church the morning that I actually went into labor. Eric also sang it to me at different points during the labor and delivery of our precious second born to encourage me and remind me that my strength for birthing came from Christ and that Jesus would not fail me.
And as always, our Lord never fails.
Happy Birthday Sweet boy!
Here are those encouraging words that remind me of the moment you came into our world:
Everlasting God by Lincoln Brewster
Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord
Wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord
Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord
Wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord
Our God You reign forever
Our Hope our strong Deliverer
You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You do not faint
You won't grow weary
You're the defender of the weak
You comfort those in need
You lift us up on wings like eagles
