Since we have been couped up all week in quarantine, I have had a chance to be a little more active on the blog. Maybe blogging is just good for my sanity and helps connect me to the outside world when I can't actually be out in it. I could never be classified as a homebody, that is for sure, but it hasn't been too bad being home all week. Some positive points have included being able to stay in pjs most of the day and it has also been a very productive week inside the house. I have had no exc

use not to tackle some much needed cleaning and organization projects that I always seem to put on the back burner because the boys and I are out and about. Yes, you can now actually see the floor in Caleb's room and now I know what that strange smell was coming from under our bed--a molded orange peel and rotting apple core, courtesy of my roaming snacker, Caleb. When asked where the remains of his fruit have gone, he usually responds with "they mysteriously disappeared." Yeah, under our bed! Mystery solved!

Anyway, this morning, I thought I was going to actually get an opportunity to sit down and watch a TV program. It was going well for the first two minutes and then mayhem erupted across the room. Caleb began freaking out and screaming at something I could not even see. Then my brain caught up with the activity and I saw this teeny tiny bug on the floor that was causing my oldest son's panic. It is interesting how this daring child, who shows little fear or hesitation in the face of most things, can totally come unglued when he spots a bug. I think he act

ually felt a little silly when his baby brother started joyfully following the bug around in circles trying to catch it. Caleb quickly calmed down and the dissipated fear turned to shear fascination. He got his bug jar (Thanks Aunt B) and proceeded to make him part of the family. "Now I have a pet, Mom!" He even bestowed upon the bug his family name of "James Bug Workman." We will call him Bug for short.
The boys were quite captivated for about fifteen minutes until they moved on to the next activity. Seth enjoyed opening the jar and screaming at the bug, which he thought was funny since it made the bug move really fast. Caleb became

very protective of his new pet and hung him on his closet door for safe keeping. I did explain that we would have to take the bug outside later today, so he could rejoin his family, but for now, we could "enjoy" him in his little jar.
When you have been couped up in the house all week, I guess you appreciate any source of entertainment, even when it is just a little bug.
