Three Things I was Reminded of about Our Boys while on Vacation...

Number One: The boys are AWESOME travelers!!!

It is hard to live away from family, but one advantage to this is that our boys have had lots of practice at being in the car for hours. And oh how it all paid off on the 8-ish hour trip to Destin...and then a week later, the 3 1/2 hour trip to Pigeon Forge.

Number Two: Caleb has inherited the "packing/unpacking" gene from his Daddy. (Thank you!)

This was actually a wonderful surprise that was just discovered on this trip. Not only does Caleb enthusiastically pack for his destination, he actually unpacks and organizes his belongings once we arrive at said destination. And then again when we arrive home again. Just like his Daddy. Give Eric an array of oddly shaped boxes, suitcases, and travel gear and an empty back end of a vehicle and he is set. It is a challenge he is happy to tackle everytime. I believe it is one of his giftings! One that I do not possess. I, on the otherhand, become overwhelmed when I see only two square-shaped suitcases in my path and take off running.

This is why Eric, and now Caleb, are the packers in the family.

Number three: Golf is NOT the Workman boys' sport .

Our boys may be blessed athletically, but their talent stops just short of the golf tee. It is actually really funny to watch them try to golf. I think the sport does not move fast enough for them, so they become a bit frustrated. Neither one of them can wait for the ball to actually come to a stop before attempting to whack it with the golf club. They just chase the ball around like it is a hockey puck and try to knock it into the hole. It is the world's longest put, since they hit at it at least 87 times with the ball never coming to a complete stop. Then when either of them is right at the hole, where only a tiny tap will send the ball home, WHAMMO!! The ball is struck with brute force and it goes sailing across the green and is chased down. Then the whole thing continues over again, until the little Workman golfer finally concedes and either picks up the ball and throws it into the hole or just throws his little arms up in despair and stalks off the green.

I do not see any PGA tours in our little boys' futures. However, it could be in Granny's future. She got at least two holes in one during our Island miniature golf game.

Here are a few (okay, a lot) remaining pictures from our beach trip:
