It is hard to believe that it is this little one's turn to start preschool!
But it is!
Seth absolutely loved his first day of preschool yesterday!
To be honest, Eric and I weren't quite sure how it would go. Seth has been going through a phase of separation anxiety and, although he is fine the moment we are out of sight, he usually cries and protests when we drop him off at church or with another caregiver. So, we had totally prepared ourselves for some clingyness and tears. Especially since Seth had been telling me for the past week that he would probably cry when he went to school.
Boy, were we surprised when our big boy marched right into his class with a big smile on his face and barely looked back! Who can really blame him, though? We have been blessed again to have the wonderful, Mrs. Cindy as his teacher. She is warm, creative, and a whole lot of fun! Biz had excitedly told little brother how much he would love Mrs. Cindy and it was nice that Seth was already familiar with her. He just went right in to her class like he had done it a hundred times before. Actually, on the way to school, he even suggested that we drop him off at the door and he would just walk in by himself. We did have to burst his bubble on that one and tell him that Mommy and Daddy would be walking him in, but he could certainly lead the way.
What a great first day he had!! The first thing he told me when I picked him up was, "I had so much fun at school today!" I think the highlights for him were getting to play on the "big kids" playground and getting to drink chocolate milk with his lunch. Aww...the simple joys.
I just can't believe how quickly 3 1/2 years have flown. Seth just looked so big carrying that backpack that nearly swallowed him whole. And not one single tear was shed by Seth (although Mommy had a few of her own).
Oh, the fun he is going to have this year in Mrs. Cindy's class!
