C-A-T-S Cats, Cats, Cats!!!

It had been years since I had been to a college football game, and I had forgotten how much fun they are!!

Drew's birthday was Nov. 14th, which nicely coincided with the UK/Vanderbilt football game.  Memaw and Pepaw treated us, along with Drew and Ticia, to a game on the Commodores home turf to celebrate Drew turning a quarter of a century old.  However, with the sea of blue present, you would have thought we were at home in Commonwealth Stadium.  The Wildcats are never without a flock of fans, and we were happy to be among them that day.

I had to acclimate to watching live football action verses seeing it on television.  I realized that it takes more effort and concentration to be present and watching, since there are no cameras in real life to zoom in and follow the football all over the field (you have to do that yourself).  And those little lines that appear on the tv screen, but are not actually present on the football field, to denote the line of scrimmage and first down are really missed when you are attending the game.  Oh well. Adjustments were quickly made and I thoroughly enjoyed being amongst all of the energy and excitement that go along with college football.

I tried to get a picture of the final score, but my zoom isn't that great.  We won!!  And what a great game it was! Although Vanderbilt was ahead by three at the half, the Wildcats were able to hold the Commodores scoreless in the second half.  Kentucky scored touchdowns in both the third and fourth quarters, going on to defeat Vanderbilt 24 to 13.  Woo Hoo! Goooooooooooooooooooo Cats!

No blue hair was worn by the Workmans at this game.  But it is basketball season now, so it won't be long before the blue hair is flying around!
