Interesting Workings of the 2-year-old Mind

Seth stood with the phone to his ear this morning, talking and listening to his Tante on the other end. However, he got a bit confused mid-conversation, took the phone away from his ear, stared at the receiver, and began shouting,

"Tante, are you inside the phone? I can't see you!"

After I stopped laughing, I pondered explaining the whole telephone concept to him. It had never occured to me how his little brain made sense of the process. Maybe I will just let him continue believing that our family and friends are actually inside the phone when they call...for a little while at least.
