Oh, but did I mention how cold and yucky it was this year. Thankfully, it was not cold and yucky enough to call for a reschedule. Whew! This year, I coordinated volunteers for Caleb's class, so I was more than happy to brave the chilly, only slight rainy conditions, in order to NOT have to move everything to the alternative rain date and reorganize volunteers. Or better yet, try to figure out how to be in two places at once, since I was not available on the alternative date.
So, everything went off as scheduled. Yay! There was just a 15 minute delay in run times, but that was a very minor issue that didn't seem to mess with anybody's day. All went very well.
This year, we had two Workmans running for their school. It was Seth's first Moore's Miles, so we were extra pumped about that. Both boys were ready to go when it came their time to run.
Caleb's class ran in the morning. Caleb was bound and determined to beat his lap count from last year. And he did. Caleb ran a whopping thirteen laps...3.25 miles.
On your marks...
Way to go, Biz!!
Seth's class ran in the afternoon, and he really wasn't concerned with breaking any records. Quite honestly, I figured he would run a couple of laps and be done. And I was right. He started off very excited, ran like a champ, and was then ready to call it a day after a couple of laps. However, the kiddos were suppose to run (or walk) for a full thirty minutes, so I had to encourage him to press on. And he did. With Momma right there with him. We ran/walked most of the time together and at the end of the thirty minutes, Seth had eight laps under his belt...2 miles. (and Momma had six laps to her credit.)
Ready to run!
Way to go, Tepper!
Good run, Workmans boys!
