Ohhhhhhhh...C-A-T-S Cats, Cats, Cats!!!

The Workmans are grinning from ear to ear today after Kentucky earned its 8th NCAA Men's Basketball National Championship title by beating Kansas in a  67-59 victory.  Woo Hoo!!!  What a fun season it has been, topped off by an exciting tournament and awesome final game!  Yep, neither Eric nor I sat down the entire time.  We were cheering and jumping all over the place!  The boys got in on the action, too, even though we got a tad bit loud a couple of times.

Just a couple.

Caleb agreed to put the three strike rule aside for last night's game.  He was just excited to participate in the fun, as was Seth, who had a basketball in hand the entire game and his own little game going on.  We originally were only going to let the boys stay up through the first half, but since they were really into it and having so much fun, we decided to let them stay up the entire game and into the celebrating! They finally dozed off three hours AFTER their normal bedtime.  But it was all good and it is Spring Break.  After all, it isn't every day that your favorite team claims the National Championship, right?  It will be a memory we will always have with our boys, just like the Kentucky basketball memories Eric and I have from our childhood with our families.

Even though we are so happy for our Cats, today is a little bittersweet.  The end of the college basketball season and March madness always is.  Now we have to wait nearly eight months to break out our basketball "crazy" again and cheer for the Big Blue.  And of course, this year's team was just so exceptional, and it will be sad that we will not get to see them play together again.  But no matter what next season brings, we will cheering on UK!

Blue hair and all!

Way to go Cats!!!

Each year, I always look forward to, and tear up, watching One Shining Moment, even when it is not our year. But this year, the montage is extra, extra sweet!!!
