Sweet Memories

Boy, do these pictures bring back memories!

In a box somewhere at Granny's house, there are many pictures similar to these that were taken thirty years ago of two other performers.  And oh, how we performed!  Becky and I spent a lot of time standing in front of Mom and Dad's old console stereo, playing records and singing our hearts out with our little microphones.  I still remember the covers of the Dave and Sugar, Kenny Rogers and Dottie West, and Oak Ridge Boys albums that we played over and over and over again.

But we were never more in our element than when were Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton!  Oh, could we ever sing some Kenny and Dolly!

This year, Granny gave the boys microphones. (Yes, this should have definitely made the Christmas highlights post for sure.)  When I look at these pictures, I see my boys, but in my mind, I also see those pictures of Becky and I having a great time singing and dancing around the living room.   Hopefully, in thirty years, the boys will look back on these pictures with sweet fondness, too.

We just need to give one of them a tamborine and the memory will be complete!

Wow that takes me back. Jacqueline and I spent hours rocking out to Amy Grant, Gloria Estefan and Harry Connick Jr. when we were kids. There were dance routines too....but by the grace of God very few of those were captured on film ;)
