The Past Two Weeks...In a Nutshell

The last two weeks have been a whirlwind of activity around here! First, we rearranged the whole house. Then we completely turned it upside down for three days with painters and wood workers coming in and out as they worked on our paint/crown molding projects. As soon as the job was complete and all of their supplies were moved out, in came Aunt B and Uncle Bill for a few days visit, which included Seth's birthday enchiladas and a zoo trip.

Seth got the biggest kick out of some of the zoo's newest inhabitants, the porcupines.

Then came Sethie's second birthday party and a visit from Memaw and Pepaw for the weekend. What a fun time we had celebrating at the Rainbow playroom with friends and then sharing an afternoon of BBQ with our family at Tante and Uncle Tim's house. When all of our company left, we had a brief chance to catch our breath, and then we were off to Kentucky and a visit to the Cozy Cone (aka Granny's house) for five days. For the first part of our trip, Eric and I painted two of her rooms, while Granny kept her little boys occupied. After the work was done, we had fun celebrating Papaw Larry's birthday with Mrs. Sheila, Aunt B, and Uncle Bill, made time for a couple of play dates and catch up time with some of my long time girlfriends, and spent Saturday night eating homemade pizzas and watching the Final Four showdown...after the Easter egg hunt that Granny had for the boys, of course. Shockingly enough, I forgot my camera when we went home to Kentucky, so there are no pictures from our trip. We got home yesterday afternoon just in time for me to go to work. Whew! It is no wonder that I am tired today!

Rolling out of the bed this morning was much more of a challenge than I anticipated, after getting to sleep in every day at the Cozy Cone. My dear mom and sister, along with my four-year old, are morning people...something that I am not and will probably never be. I am swimming in laundry today, which is interesting because we did at least two loads at Granny's house. I am not sure where all of it comes from or how it can multiply so quickly. My goal of grocery shopping today is OUT, because I can't seem to find the motivation to get dressed and venture out into the chilly weather. Weren't we wearing shorts last week? It will now become Tuesday's goal. Caleb is on Spring Break this week, which for me, is good timing. A week of nowhere that we absolutely have to be is a nice way to settle back into reality.
